Frequent Seagrass Monitoring

In the Pittwater estuary nearby to Hobart Tasmania, we developed a classification algortithm using Artifical Neural Networks to frequently classify seagrass. Drawing on the Copernicus constellation, seagrass is an important bio-indicator and in decline globally. This means knowing the state of our seagrass 'frequently' is important towards understanding the health of our waterways. At 10m resolution and creating time series analyis, we monitor the presence/absence and extents of seagrass every five days for decision making purposes.
