Iraq Oil Fires
In Al Qayyarah region of Iraq, the oil fires were set by ISIS in 2016, impacting greatly the surrounding agricultural landscape. A site where civilisation and agriculture are thought to have emerged; hence, a powerful site to now speak to the common future of humanity.
How might we view extreme anthropogenic induced changes to the environment as an example of what happens in closed ecological systems around the world? The power of satellite observations will help us understand the changes in environmental flows considering climate change and how to resond to these anthropogenic caused 'spikes' in planetary systems.
